Job Overview

The Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the UPMC Children\u2019s Hospital of Pittsburgh and the Department of Pediatrics, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is recruiting a candidate for a one-year long Pediatric Acute Care Fellowship program. Ideal candidate should either be someone who has completed or will complete a pediatrics, family medicine, or emergency medicine residency program in the United States. One of only a handful of Pediatric Acute Care/Urgent Care fellowships in the country, our Pediatric Acute Care program is a one-year fellowship designed for clinicians interested in both community and academic medicine. To meet national core competencies, fellows will gain necessary clinical skills such as performing basic procedures common to urgent care and will gain experience with POCUS first-hand from top leaders in the field. Fellows will also be exposed to urgent care administration, telehealth, research, and education. Working closely with both acute/urgent care providers and the Pediatric Emergency Medicine division, fellows will have a wide breadth of mentorship available. Acute/Urgent care-trained pediatricians are needed to provide the excellent in-person and remote clinical care that our patient population in Pittsburgh deserves. We seek to mentor a diverse set of pediatric fellows to excel as competent and expedient high-quality pediatric urgent care clinicians committed to putting their patients first, providing equitable and safe care, and who will become future leaders in the field of pediatric urgent and acute care. H1B visa sponsorship available. Schedule is 8 shifts per month in the low-acuity section of the pediatric emergency department along with additional educational duties during rotations Faculty responsibilities include patient care, house staff and student education, and academic pursuits.

• The candidate must have completed a Pediatrics residency or Family Medicine residency
• Must have an MD or equivalent with the ability to obtain an unrestricted PA license
• Join a Division with 38 pediatric emergency medicine faculty, 3 general pediatrician faculty as well as thirty advanced practice providers
• Rotating shift schedule to days, nights and weekends
