Clerkship Program 

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Women's Health

The clerkship is six weeks and allows students the opportunity to learn about women’s health in all stages of life, from adolescence through the postmenopausal years. Students will be exposed to a wide variety of both obstetric and gynecologic issues encountered in the outpatient as well as inpatient setting, allowing students to acquire a basic set of clinical and procedural skills.

First and Second Year

  • First year: Women’s Health Selective
  • Second year: Reproductive Systems and Human Sexuality course
  • Gynecologic Teaching Associate (GTA) program to teach breast and pelvic exams during the Introduction to Clinical Medicine Course

Third and Fourth Year

  • Third year: Six week OBGYN Clerkship
  • Fourth year: Four week OB Sub-Internship (selective for required Einstein Sub-Internship)
  • Four week electives (OB, GYN Oncology, Benign GYN, REI, MFM, Ultrasound, Genetics, Family Planning)
