The Role

New England Biolabs is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow interested in applying sequencing library preparation and data analysis methods to societally relevant clinical and molecular biology questions. The successful candidate will collaborate with NEB and external scientists to develop and apply high throughput sequencing methods to challenging problems, sharing findings internally, at scientific conferences, and in peer-reviewed publications.

How you’ll contribute:

  • Answer interesting and relevant scientific questions using next generation sequencing applications 

  • Collaborate with academic and/or industrial partners/thought leaders to inform project design and strategy  

  • Develop and apply data analysis and visualization strategies   

  • Publish results in open-access journals 

Required Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Ph.D. in a biological field with experience preparing libraries for high-throughput sequencing and an interest in data analysis.  Exceptional candidates with a doctoral degree in computational biology/bioinformatics with significant bench experience will be considered. 

  • Demonstrated scientific communication skills 

  • Strong work ethic, emphasizing both efficiency and quality of work 

  • Evidence of both wet lab and data analysis experience 

  • Integrity, perseverance, and collaborative nature

  • Software development skills 

  • Cluster computing experience 

  • Specialization in immunology
