Family & Community MedicineJob Duties:
Develops continuity of care practice.
Provide ambulatory, inpatient care, and obstetric care.
Supervises resident education in office, hospital, and community.
Provides and supervises resident care of pregnant women, including deliveries.
Evaluates performance of residents.
Participates in didactic teaching of residents.
Serves as a mentor and advisor for family medicine residents.
Develops own focus of scholarly activity including national and regional publications and presentations.
Attends family medicine faculty and resident meetings, conferences, committees and retreats.
Participates in faculty development activities.
Develops and oversees residency curriculum under the direction of Program Director.
Assists with ensuring ACGME FMRC requirements are consistently met.
Teaches medical students through clinical, didactic, small group methodologies.
Provides other services under the direction of Program Director and Department Chair.
Work Environment:
Faculty member must be able to obtain hospital privileges.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO, or equivalent degree)
This position requires a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have the foundational knowledge and skill set required to perform the duties of the position. The level of degree is based on accreditation requirements, institutional standards of academic and professional excellence, alignment with peer institution benchmarks, and contributes to the credibility and effectiveness of the role within the university community.
Licenses/Certifications:
Completion of residency
Board certified or eligible for board certification in Family Medicine
Unrestricted Kansas license to practice medicine
Federal narcotics number

Work Experience:
Experience teaching and supervising residents and medical students
Demonstrated scholarly activity
Previous medical practice experience
