Central Fresno Community Health Center: Home of Valley Health Team Family Medicine Residency Program

The Valley Health Team Family Medicine Residency Program (VHTFMRP), located in Fresno, California, is a four-person per year residency training program created as a Teaching Health Center, led by Valley Health Team, Inc. This program was formed in response to the shortage of primary care physicians in the Central San Joaquin Valley.

Curriculum

The Valley Health Team Family Medicine Residency Program (VHTFMRP) offers a three-year (36 month) residency program. The duration of residency training is specified by and subject to change by the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education Residency Review Committee on Family Medicine (ACGME-RRC). The VHTFMRP has its Family Medicine Center at Valley Health Team Central Fresno Community Health Center. All residents are expected to compete each rotation as scheduled. *Note: There are 13-four week blocks in 12 months.

The Valley Children’s Hospital, located in Madera, is the premier pediatric medical center in the heart of the Golden State. The hospital is a not-for-profit, state-of-the-art children’s hospital on a 50-acre campus with a medical staff of more than 643 physicians.
