Surgical Skills

Surgical simulation allows junior residents to master the basics, and senior residents to practice teaching in a low-pressure lab setting, so that time in the operating room can be maximized. Our structured surgical skills curriculum, will consist of regularly scheduled lectures, each paired with a hands-on simulation lab. Topics will include anatomy, electrosurgery, hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, robotics, vaginal and open surgery. Our residents will also learn the Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery and obtain their certification before graduation. The surgical skills curriculum will be led by minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon, Dr. Brooke Winner, in collaboration with her other surgical colleagues.
